Werner Spohr is an avid animal and nature photographer. He was born in Celle, Germany in 1946. He lived in Central America for three years. During this time Werner travelled in many Latin-American countries. In 1968 he settled in Switzerland. Werner’s interest in photography of wildlife has led him to numerous African and Asian countries as well as to Australia. He also devotes himself meticulously to the local fauna.
As a photographer Werner Spohr has published different books and his photos and texts have been published in newspapers and magazines.
Werner sees his work as a contribution to the protection and preservation of the diversity of species and the ecosystem. His photos capture the human fascination with the dignity of wild animals as equivalent creatures to us human beings in nature. It is very important to Werner to make this visible.
